Marsh frog: illustrated description

- Rounded snout
- Strong hindlimbs
- Mid-dorsal line (bright green)
- Dark blotches on its skin
- The main challenge for frogs inhabiting Provence is to go through our (very hot) summers. As most frogs do, they need to keep their skin moistened. The marsh frog would therefore preferably live in a permanent pond.
- Marsh frog adapts easily to its environment (suroundings, food, etc.) making it a resilient species.
- The main way to differentiate green frogs from the rest is that, even when they reach their adult stage, they remain in water (unlike others which only go back to the water during breeding season).
